DesignOffers was set up by Beverley and Christine, the founders of www.simplesaver.co.uk (which has been running since 2001). A shared interest in interior design led to their setting up DesignOffers in 2002 as a separate website - initially it started life as the Interiors Category of the SimpleSaver.
"The format is similar to that of the original SimpleSaver" says Beverley. "We still try to stay true to our original philosophy - fabulous offers and deals, presented in a simple categorised format."
"There's a huge demand for the information we are able to supply" says Christine. "We are experiencing volumes of 10,000+ visitors a month on DesignOffers."
Both Beverley and Christine have been able to draw on their online experience. "With this site we've also been able to include useful & unusual websites, not just those offering deals & savings." says Beverley.
More than just offers ...
Christine thinks that the appeal of DesignOffers comes from the wide range of topics covered on the website. "We cover every aspect of interior design from paint types to free DIY advice as well as links to websites offering discounted goods. I suspect that this gives us a wider audience - from people renovating properties to those just looking to accessorise".
Attractive to advertisers ...
As with the SimpleSaver, DesignOffers now hopes to attract major brands. "Compelling and relevant offers will always be effective - it suits our users and it suits the brands. We are now able to advise prospective sponsors what promotions we think will work for a brand." says Beverley.
Design Offers now has a new advertising system, set up in 2006, which allows advertisers to advertise on a page, and in a category, of their choice.
